How do I know the soil isn’t contaminated?
We only accept soils into our facility that are residential quality or clean soil. We guarantee this by following it up with random testing of our stockpiles to confirm material quality. Any materials not meeting the requirements, set out in the Canadian Contaminated Sites Regulation, are not allowed into our sites and are handled at a completely different facility, specifically designed and permitted for remediation of these materials.
What is a “garbage surcharge” and what does it apply to?
When any load of material is deposited at our facilities containing garbage (including household garbage, plastics, tarps, drywall, creosote, pressure treated lumber, wire, and chain link fence) we have a surcharge which covers the cost of manually separating the deleterious materials and disposing of them offsite.
Can I set up an account with your company?
We do not have charge accounts for retail customers but we do offer contractor accounts for qualifying small businesses who have established a minimum 6 month business relationship, and on average, spend more than $1,000 per month over the course of a year. We also have commercial business accounts for qualifying commercial excavation, civil, and landscape companies. Call for more details on how to qualify.
How do I pay?
At either of our transfer stations you can pay by cash, debit, visa, and mastercard.
What are your hours?
Our Bonson Road location (Bonson and Fraser Way, Pitt Meadows) is open 7am until 4pm, Mon-Fri. Our Coquitlam Location (2650 Pitt River Road, Port Coquitlam) is open from 7am until 3:30pm, Mon-Fri.
What is the process if I want to drop off or pick up something from one of your sites?
When you arrive, pull onto the scale. When it’s your turn (giving right of way to outbound vehicles) our scale operator will ask what you are picking up or disposing of and direct you to the correct spot to unload or get loaded. Feel free to ask them questions about different products. You can then follow the signage back to the scale to collect your ticket and provide payment.
What if I only want a small amount of something?
Whether you need hundreds of dump truck loads or just an ice cream bucket of soil, you can expect BC Earth Exchange to come through for you. All of our products are sold by weight and there is a minimum $10.00 charge per transaction.
